MISSION The mission of ARC is to serve individuals and groups seeking time apart for rest and spiritual renewal. ARC embraces people in their full diversity: including all faith traditions and spiritual beliefs. Founded in the spirit of Christian ecumenism, ARC is an interspiritual retreat community. It is nurtured on sacred land, promoting environmental sustainability, and exemplifying a just and inclusive world where every voice is valued and respected. VISION ARC Retreat Community (ARC) envisions a transformed world in which all people embrace and cultivate the spiritual nature of life through healthy, loving relationships with self, others, planet earth, and the Divine. HISTORY ARC Retreat Community was born almost 50 years ago from a visionary action that was ahead of its time. In 1972 founder Ruth Halvorson honored her spiritual vision. With the help and support of her family and many individuals, together they developed an organization that has enabled thousands of people to find rest and spiritual renewal through radical hospitality. ARC has been guided and sustained by many surprising happenings that have been described as “God events,” ARC continues to be a place for visioning so that the journey inward – nurturing one’s spirit – inspires the journey outward – nourishing the world in the quest for harmony, peace, and justice. The ARC land is located within the traditional homelands of the Anishinaabe and the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ peoples. Over thirty years ago, sweat lodges were developed by indigenous people on ARC and continue to this day. ARC offers this land acknowledgement in order to affirm indigenous sovereignty, history, and experiences and is honored to be in contemporary relationships with indigenous communities. RETREATS Sponsored retreats are planned by ARC around a certain theme and are open for public registration. Day or overnight, these retreats are typically held in the Lodge which accommodates a maximum of 16 guests in 10 single rooms and three double rooms. Guest rooms are private with shared bathrooms. The Lodge also has a meditation room and chapel, library, bookshop, large and small meeting areas, two fireplaces, a screened-in porch, and other spaces conducive to rest and reflection. Linens and towels are provided. YOGA RETREAT The Yoga and Integrative Health Services Retreats are on-site retreats promoting optimal health for stress reduction and restoration

"I set out for a solo retreat for 5 days. The staff were kind and respectful. The grounds were well kept and the trails in excellent condition. The food was mostly homemade, satisfying for my body and my taste buds! I took some meals solo and others staff would join me. The rooms were modest, quiet and just what I expected." - Cindy C.

"A wonderful retreat. I went for focused, quiet time to revise a lengthy piece of writing, and I made terrific progress thanks to the peace, solitude, and beautiful surroundings. Amenities are great, and I loved the healthy vegetarian food and supportive, thoughtful staff. The cost was very reasonable for a room in a beautiful lodge and being served three meals a day! Highly recommended." - Martin C.

"In my stay at Arc retreat center I was embraced with a warm welcome and quick tour of the grounds. I experienced wholesome service , comfort, privacy and cleanliness(COVID friendly). Truly a peaceful getaway. I wanted to stay longer. Arc also provided 3 meals prepared with love. They have two fireplaces, in which I got to enjoy one at night. Arc retreat center has a beautiful view to nature which is very calming and grounding. Spiritual books and space to be alone to read or think ( Arc really respects your space)" - Piere B.
